BBQ Potato Salad

True story – I had never made this potato salad before, but we were having a BBQ get-together at Prospect Park for my friend’s birthday, and they put me on potato salad duty. I wanted to make something a little different, so I whipped this up and it was literally the first thing to be POLISHED off at the BBQ! Suffice it to say, this is such a crowd pleaser. Potato salad always is!!

Best BBQ Potato Salad for a crowd

2 24oz bags baby red potatoes
9 eggs
4 scallions, chopped
1/3 cup capers
1/2 cup chopped dill
1 heaping cup mayonnaise
3 tbsp spicy brown mustard
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt and pepper, to taste
Smoked paprika, for finishing

Method:

Add all of the ingredients to a bowl, mix and ENJOY!

Falafel Salad

red cabbage
cucumbers
tomatoes
Israeli pickles
chickpeas
red onion or scallion
parsley
lemon juice
Bissli falafel bits
Tahini (Creamy Tahini)

Mix some red cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, Israeli pickles, chickpeas, red onion or scallion, parsley, tahini, lemon juice, and Bissli falafel bits! So so good!

Salsa Salad

I’ve come to love salad making so much. The process is really soothing for me, it feels like the ultimate self care. Here’s a new salad recipe, I hope you love it as much as i do!

Salsa Salad

1/3 cup salsa
3 tbsp light olive oil
1 clove minced garlic
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 tbsp honey
Salt and pepper to taste
2 medium head cabbage, chopped
1 avocado, diced
1 jalapeño, thinly sliced
Bunch of cilantro, roughly chopped
1 cup crushed tortilla chips

Method:

Whisk the salad dressing at the bottom of the salad bowl and add your vegetables, toss and top with tortilla chips.

Kosher Wedge Salad

Kosher Wedge Salad

Turkey strips:
9.5oz @tirat_zvi_usa smoked turkey breast, Cut into strips
3 tbsp bbq sauce
1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp mustard powder
2 tbsp dark brown sugar
1 tbsp neutral flavored oil

Dressing:
2/3 cup Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp pickled jalapeño brine
salt and pepper, to taste

For the salad:
1 head iceberg lettuce, quartered
1 pint grape tomatoes, sliced
1 bunch scallions or chives, finely chopped

Method:

Preheat oven to 400°. Please the turkey straps on a Porsche online baking sheet and stir with remaining ingredients. Bake for 20 minutes or until crispy.

Prepare the dressing by whisking all the ingredients in a small bowl. Depending on the acidity of your brine you may want to add a bit of sweetener. I use Trader Joe’s hot & sweet jalapeño brine.

To serve, Pour some of the dressing over each iceberg wedge, top with sliced tomatoes and chives and garnish with turkey strips.

Puttanesca Tuna Salad


This is my new favorite tuna salad! I’m never going back! It was inspired by the Italian pasta sauce, Puttanesca, And you’re gonna wanna drown all your food in the dressing!

Puttanesca Tuna Salad

2 cups arugula
1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup sliced black olives
1/2 small red onion thinly slice
1 can tuna, drained well and flaked

Dressing:
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Zest and juice of half a lemon
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup finally chopped parsley
3 tablespoons finely chopped capers
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper, to taste

Method:

Mix and enjoy!
